This exciting motorbike tour will take you to the North of Laos, where you will discover spectacular river landscapes, historical caves and ethnic villages. You will get a deeper impression of the local’s life and their cultural heritage – off the beaten track!
First Stop: Ban Xang Hai We will visit a village famous for its “Lao Whiskey” production where you will have an introduction in the distilling process and get an understanding of its cultural importance to the locals.
Second Stop: Buddha caves – to the locals one of the most important cultural sites . Pak Ou Caves are home to thousands Buddha statues, located on the rocky cliff with faces overlooking to Mekong river. Those Buddha images follow various of positions such as meditation, peace and nirvana. Most of the statues were made of wood – some of resin, even earthenware and animal bones.

Option B: Guesthouse in Nong Khiaw
After breakfast a varied day awaits you: a hike to a viewpoint, visit of an historical cave and of course – how could it be otherwise – you hit the road again!
Pha Thok Cave are a couple of historic caves used in Nong Khiaw in the 1960’s as hideouts during the Indochina war. For 8 years the larger cave was home to over 300 people and was separated into different sections, such as a hospital, a military section and a police section
Road surfaces are a varied mix of paved and unpaved roads – it definitely never gets boring!
The Level of difficulty ranges between easy and medium, depending on weather conditions.
